How often have you wondered why you have to learn the quadratic formula?!! Quadratic equations can actually be used in everyday life. For example they can be useful when calculating areas, formulating the speed of an object or determining the profit of a product.
If you are running a business – you need to make a profit. In order to do this you will need to determine how many items you need to produce and at what price you should sell them at. Quadratic equations can help you to do this. Athletes can use quadratic equations to calculate, for example, the speed they may travel down a river,or where a javelin will travel when you throw it!
GCSE Maths students – you need to be able to factorise using the quadratic formula. Our new guide, “How to work with the Quadratic Formula” can help. It includes the formula, and explains how to use it. Included, as always are questions to try, and answers to check your understanding.
